Historical archive — Spring 2025. This recap was published in 2026 from Purdue and contemporary competition sources.

The 36th Burton D. Morgan Business Concept Competition concluded on April 23, 2025 after a nine-week cycle.

These results were published in the organizer's post-final recap.

Seven $3,000 standout concepts

The remaining seven finalists each received $3,000:

  • Amit Manchella, Aditya Naidu
  • Shambhavi Adkar, Tong En Sim, Mahee Jain
  • Bilsha Das, Drew Riordan
  • Ryan Jo, Maheshwari Das, Chorong Park
  • Ilke Akturk, Ali Sinan Akturk, Burla Ondes
  • Kanishk Singh, Dheeraj Aaditya, Srikar Kolla
  • Rodrigo Schmitt — Purdue's archive lists Rodrigo; his finalist announcement identifies Lucas Rezende Malta de Sá as his SkillTrees teammate

Scale

The official Purdue final-event page reported:

  • 56 teams
  • 125 students
  • a nine-week concept-building process
  • a final in Rawls Hall on April 23

Three $1,000 special awards

Purdue's current competition archive also lists:

  • Best Customer Discovery: Kenneth Halls — $1,000
  • Most Creative Concept: Dalton Aaker — $1,000
  • Most Innovative Concept: Khushi Choksi, Hannah Margulis, and Elan Smyla — $1,000

The published, itemized awards therefore total $46,000: $22,000 for the Top 3, $21,000 across seven $3,000 Standout Concept prizes, and $3,000 across the three special prizes. Purdue advertised a $50,000 prize pool for the Spring 2025 cycle, so buildpurdue distinguishes the advertised pool from the $46,000 explicitly itemized in the public results rather than inventing an unlisted $4,000 award.

The MoMoney example

One standout team, MoMoney, was built by Kanishk Singh, Dheeraj Aaditya, and Srikar Kolla around financial-literacy and investing education using micro-learning and gamified paper trading.

Srikar Kolla's finalist recap confirms the $3,000 prize.

What came next

The next Burton Morgan cycle happened in Fall 2025, not Spring 2026. It became the 37th Venture Concept Competition, grew to 120 teams and nearly 250 students, and used a December final.
