Everything you need to know about buildpurdue, applications, the cohort, and events.
General
buildpurdue is Purdue University's startup club and entrepreneurship community. We help Purdue students go from concept to launch with structure and accountability to ship products.
Apply to the buildpurdue cohort. Tell us about the problem you want to solve, and we'll give you the structure and community to go from idea to launched product. No prior startup experience needed.
A team of Purdue students and alumni who are passionate about building. Our staff handles operations, events, and community management.
A bit of both. We're a registered Purdue student organization that operates like a student accelerator. We provide the framework and accountability. You bring the idea and effort.
Applying
Any current Purdue student can apply. Alumni cannot apply to the Cohort or join buildpurdue as student members.
Three open-ended questions about what you want to build, why it matters to you, and what you bring to a team. No right answers. We look for passion and follow-through.
We review applications on a rolling basis. Most applicants hear back within a few days. You can check your status anytime by signing in.
Yes. You can submit a team application with up to 4 members. Everyone gets their own account and is grouped into the same venture on approval.
The Cohort
You join the Cohort and gain its founder network, connections with industry experts, and visibility across our VC network. You can also join or form a venture team and use the buildpurdue dashboard.
A short check-in on what you launched, traction, goals, and team morale. Weekly updates are available to every current Purdue student founder; Cohort acceptance is not required.
No. Many members join with just a problem they care about and figure out the solution along the way. The cohort structure helps you move from idea to execution.
Nightshift & Events
An open weekly work session where Purdue students build, get feedback, and meet other founders. Nightshift has no membership and never requires an application.
No. Nightshift is always open to every Purdue student. Most other events are open too; check the event page for any specific attendance requirements.
On Purdue campus. Location details are on each event page and sent via email after you RSVP.
