What Spring 2025 emphasized
The cycle focused on early-stage business concepts. Public promotion encouraged students to bring a rough idea, problem space, passion, or unmet need and use the process to test whether a business opportunity existed.
Contemporary materials emphasized:
- problem framing;
- market analysis;
- customer discovery;
- expert feedback; and
- a final cash-prize event.
The February 24 submission was described as a draft concept rather than a finished company.
The final
The official Purdue final-event page reported 56 teams and 125 students from across Purdue working over nine weeks before the April 23 final in Rawls Hall.
Ten finalists competed for the top prizes.

Why Spring 2025 is separate from Fall 2025
Purdue held another distinct Burton Morgan cycle only months later.
Spring 2025 was the 36th Business Concept Competition. Fall 2025 was the 37th Venture Concept Competition, with a different name, different application window, larger participation, and a December final.
That is why buildpurdue archives them as separate semester cycles rather than calling both simply "the 2025 competition."
For Fall 2025, see the 37th-cycle archive.
